roadway scanning
Roadway scanning is a process that is regularly used for capturing data from an accident scene. Features such as skid marks, gouges, topography, lane markings, signs, etc. will all be captured so that they can be observed digitally at any point in the future. Often the roadway scans are used to create linework for 2D diagrams of a roadway layout for the purposes of illustration as well as calculations for speed or timing of particular scenarios. Other uses include drainage and runoff analysis, curvature and banking analysis, simulation and animations, etc.
